OpenInfra

Open-source apps on open infrastructure. Hosts provide compute and storage, earn rewards, and — at the vision's end state — run a peer-to-peer network with no central authority.

Control plane API

REST for users (chi router), gRPC + mTLS for host agents, JWT auth, role-based access, rate limiting, and an OpenAPI spec.

Catalog & workloads

A service catalog plus full workload lifecycle — deploy, stop, restart — with a score-based scheduler placing work by capacity and reliability.

Host agent

Registration, heartbeat, metrics, and a container runtime path for workloads today (Firecracker microVM path in progress).

Credits ledger

A centralized double-entry billing ledger with hourly metering and reward epochs — the trust-bearing piece designed to migrate on-chain.

Built centralized-first, decentralized-by-design

Section titled “Built centralized-first, decentralized-by-design”

OpenInfra ships a working centralized control plane now, with the architecture deliberately shaped so the trust-bearing pieces — host registry, rewards, governance — can migrate on-chain (Cosmos SDK / CometBFT, OINFRA token) as the network matures.

Get started

Stand up the control plane and deploy your first workload in the Quickstart.

Read the Security model — trust boundaries, mitigations, and honest residual risks.

See it live

ChessLabs Coach runs its analyzer as an OpenInfra workload — a real app on the network today.
